PCSF Code of Conduct

(9/28/20)

PCSF is committed to ensuring a positive and professional environment in which everyone is treated equally and with respect. Accordingly, this PCSF Code of Conduct prohibits all forms of unequal treatment, disrespect and harassment by all individuals involved in PCSF projects. This code applies to the conduct of our members, as well as our non-members, partners and audiences.

Equal and Respectful Treatment
At PCSF an inclusive and respectful environment is one where playwrights, actors, directors and producers—whatever their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability—are treated equally and with respect.

To provide informed, authentic leadership for cultural equity, PCSF strives to:

  • See diversity, inclusion, and equity as an integral part of our mission and critical to ensuring the well-being of our members and others with whom we work.
  • Acknowledge and dismantle any inequities that are brought to our attention.
  • Explore potential underlying, unquestioned assumptions that interfere with inclusiveness and remedy them.
  • Advocate for and support Board-level thinking about how systemic inequities may impact our organization's work and how best to address that in a way that is consistent with our mission.
  • Have more diverse representation within our Board, members and advisory bodies.
Anti-Harassment
PCSF's anti-harassment policy expresses our commitment to maintain an environment that is free of harassment, so all who work on our programs can feel safe and happy. We will not tolerate anyone harassing, intimidating, humiliating or sabotaging others.

Specifically, our Anti-Harassment Policy prohibits unwelcome verbal or physical conduct based on gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation or identity, education or disability.

Violations of Policy
Violations of this Code of Conduct are to be reported immediately to a Board member. The Board will quickly investigate such complaints and resolve them in an appropriate manner. There will be a "no tolerance" policy for unequal treatment, disrespect or harassment of any kind.
